Chile and Bolivia's Atacama Desert

I recently returned from Chile and Bolivia in the Altiplano (high plain in Spanish) in the Atacama desert. It was rough with the high altitude, above 15,000 feet and going up too quickly in one day but it was amazing. I loved the red and greenish lakes and surreal landscapes. It often reminded me of back home in Death Valley, California with salt flats like Badwater and places that look like the Devil's Golf Course and Artist's Pallet. However, the air was thinner and there were flamingos flying around! Here are a few images. Click on the thumb nail to enlarge.
